Minneha Announcements
Dear Minneha Parents,
Our Core Knowledge Night was a great success! I want to thank all the families who were able to join us for a night of music, food and fun. We are already looking forward to our Core Knowledge Cultural Night for next year. Look for this activity again next year as we build upon the success of this year’s event.

The rest of the school year is going to move very fast! As most of you already know, the school year has been shortened by our board of education. Our student’s last day of school is May 20th. Before the end of school, we have many activities planned. Here are a few highlights:
  1. May 13th is our Field Day. Our 3rd -5th graders will have their events from 9:20-11:20. Our Kindergarteners-2nd graders will have their events from 1:30-3:30.
  2. May 19th is our Annual Trip to All-Star Sports. Our 3rd – 5th graders will attend in the morning. Our Kindergarten – 2nd graders will attend in the afternoon. The format will be the same as previous year’s trips to All-Star Sports.  Students will need to pay only $2.00 this year! A field trip form will come home soon for parents to sign and send back to school with the money attached.
  3. May 20th is a very busy day. We will be celebrating graduations all day. The agenda is as follows:
    1. 5th grade graduation will be held at 9:30 in the North Gym
    2. Morning Pre-Kindergarteners will graduate at 11:00 in the North Gym
    3. Kindergarten will graduate at 1:00 in the North Gym
    4. Afternoon Pre-Kindergarten will graduate at 3:00 in the North Gym
  4. May 20th at 4:10 is dismissal for all students for summer break.
As we look ahead to next year, we already have some plans for our students in 2016-2017. A short list of ideas include: Open House, individual grade level Core Knowledge nights, music concerts, a daddy-daughter dance, curriculum nights, PTO carnival, and our Core Knowledge Cultural Night.

As we look back on the year, our data has shown it to be a promising year.  Our AIMS web scores are showing higher reading scores and higher math scores for all students than last year’s scores. Our incident reports show a decrease in total number of reports to the office over past years. This data is a result of the hard work our teachers and students were engaged in all year.  This growth is also due to the work you, our parents, do every day to improve the lives of your children, our students.
It has been a pleasure to serve your students this year as principal. I look forward to even more success next year. Have a safe summer and enjoy the last weeks of school.
Kindest Regards,
Chris Wendt
